- 02Confirmation. We check the digger's availability against your requirements, including any customisation you've asked for, and confirm how long it will take to get it to you.
- 0310% deposit. A holding deposit of 10% secures the machine before we ship it. Total time is typically 6 to 8 weeks from deposit to arrival at your door, confirmed with you in person and in writing.
- 04Balance on delivery. Pay the remaining 90% when we hand the machine over.

What does a 20 tonne excavator weigh?
Operating weight starts at about 20 tonnes. Our machines in this class run from a Kobelco SK200-10 at 20.7 tonnes, through the Cat 323GX at 21.4 and the Cat 320GC at 22, to a Kobelco SK260LC-8 at 25.7 tonnes. The Volvo EC380DL is 39.7 tonnes.
How deep can a 20 tonne excavator dig?
About 6.7 to 7 metres. The 20 to 30 tonne machines on our site list 6.70 to 7.00 metres, and the Cat 320GC lists 6.72. That's the maximum, and a straight-sided cut goes less deep.
Is a Hitachi ZX200-5A a 20 tonne excavator?
Almost. Its operating weight is 19.7 tonnes, just under this page's cutoff. You'll find it on the Hitachi page.
How much fuel does a 20 tonne excavator use?
About 8 to 14 litres an hour, from Caterpillar's Performance Handbook (2022). The low end is the mostly-idle column, not a light-duty figure.
How many hours is too many on a used excavator this size?
We cap machines at under 6,000 hours, with most between 2,000 and 5,000. Each is cleaned and inspected before import, then signed off by a qualified engineer before shipping. Check the undercarriage as well as the hour meter.
How long does it take to get a 20 tonne excavator delivered?
Delivery takes about 6 to 8 weeks from a 10% deposit, with the balance due when the machine reaches your door.
