Privacy Statement

This statement explains what personal information Pacific Heavy Machinery collects through this website, why, and what you can do about it. It follows New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry, we collect:
- your name
- your email address
- your phone number, if you give one
- when you are looking to buy
- your message, if you write one
- your answer to "How did you hear about us?"
The form also records, automatically, the page you landed on, the site that referred you, and the campaign tags (UTM) from the link you followed.
We collect this directly from you through the form. Giving us your name, email and timeframe is needed to send an enquiry. Everything else is optional.
Why we collect it
- To answer your enquiry.
- To quote and sell you a machine.
- To see which channels bring enquiries.
We do not sell or rent personal information.
Who handles it for us
- Web3Forms, a form-delivery service, delivers your form submission to us.
- Airtable, a cloud database, stores our enquiry records.
These two services process your information on our behalf.
Site analytics and cookies
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies and does not track you across sites. This site sets no advertising cookies.
Storage outside New Zealand
The services above are overseas, so your information may be stored on servers outside New Zealand.
How long we keep it
Only as long as we need it for your enquiry, any sale, and legal record-keeping.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it (Information Privacy Principles 6 and 7). Ring 0800 367 1111.
Complaints
If you are not happy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
